Curry Place restaurant raises money for African footy charity
Swindon Deputy Mayor Rex Barnett joined guests invited to a fundraising dinner at the Curry Place restaurant in Rodbourne last night.
An evening organised by owner Mr Mahmod Ali in aid of African football charity Kick4Life, a UK charity which uses the game as a tool for promoting health education and awareness in the developing world.
"Thank you to the Deputy Mayor and Mayoress, Miss Swindon and everyone who made the effort to come," Mr Ali said.
"We've raised over £1,400 tonight for what is a very worthwhile cause."
