Mayor's Charities on Cloud Naan
Prospect Hospice & Goldenhar UK better off thanks to The Curry Place banquet fundraiser
Madras meant money for the Swindon mayor's chosen charities this year after a fundraising dinner in Rodbourne.
Councillor Teresa Page joined guests invited to a special banquet at The Curry Place restaurant on 07 July, when £560 was raised.
And this week, Mr Mahmod Ali, The Curry Place owner, was delighted to welcome back the mayor to hand over a cheque, alongside his staff and two of the local charities that will benefit - Goldenhar UK & the Prospect Hospice.
"It's an honour to do this for the mayor every year," Mr Ali told us, "and so wonderful to find out from Ms Tawaih (Prospect Hospice, second left) and Mr Holmes (Goldenhar UK, centre) how well the money will be spent."
The Curry Place wins yet another award!
Local MP presents award to Swindon curry house - The Curry Place
The Curry Place Indian restaurant have once again excelled at what they do best, landing a place in the prestigious Tiffin Cup magazine of 2012, published on behalf of the House of Commons.
The award, which was for 'Best South Asian Restaurant', was presented by Mr Justin Tomlinson (MP for North Swindon) to Mr Mahmod Ali (Manager) and Mr Beetoshoke De (Assistant Manager).
They were also presented a certificate and a chef's jacket, direct from the British Parliament, for making it as a highly commended restaurant in the South West region.
